School Profile

Macarthur PS is a small rural school with a current enrolment of 54 students. The school is situated in the small township of Macarthur in Victoria's Western District. The first school was established on the site in 1865 and the school has a proud history and traditions. The original bluestone building is still part of our current school and is the classroom for our senior students.
The school has continued to develop its facilities over the years and offers large classrooms with space to learn and grow in a secure setting. Modern facilities are being added with a new ICT Centre and library under construction.
Macarthur Primary School enjoys extensive grounds and a beautiful rural setting which provides the perfect environment for primary education.
Location
Macarthur Primary School is located approximately mid way between Hamilton and Port Fairy in the Shire of Moyne.

Classes
Our school is divided into three composite groupings depending upon numbers and the needs of students. Small grades are a feature of our school and during 2008 classes were structures as follows:
- Prep/One: 18 students
- Grade 2 / 3: 12 students
- Grade 4/5/6: 24 students
Each grade is supported by one of our support staff.

Uniform

Macarthur Primary School has a strongly supported Uniform Policy. The community believes a uniform reflects the pride the community feels in the school as well as giving students a sense of belonging. All students are encouraged to wear the full school uniform.
